Having goals is important. I myself am one of those people who can’t exist if I don’t have fourteen to-do lists on the go at any one time. I have tried every app, every possible method of listing I can and most of them work for a while and then fade away into disuse.
One thing I have found is that if I make myself accountable to other people then there is so much more pressure to complete my goals and I am far more likely to make it through to the end and actually achieve something.
So here it is, clear and accountable to you, my dearest reader, though we are already more than a week into the month: my April ‘to be read’ list.
1) The Tropic of Serpents, Marie Brennan
You can read my review of the first of these titles (posted yesterday) to discover just how much I loved the first in this series. I’ve managed to get hold of the second title from my local library (how often does that happen?!) so I want to make sure I read that before my loan runs out!
2-3) The Smiler’s Fair and The Hunter’s Kind, Rebecca Levine
Another library find I was unable to resist. I never find sequential books in my local so it was an impulse grab. Having said that, these do look pretty cool and I’m looking forward to devouring them this month.
4) Sea, Sarah Driver (The Huntress #1)
I received a digital ARC of this via Netgalley. I’m looking forward to looking into the first title in a trilogy, I’m all for new series, though I hate not knowing how things end. I don’t tend to read a lot of books that are for ‘children’ persay but who knows? This one might surprise me.
5) The Witchfinder’s Sister, Beth Underdown
This was a W2RW which you can view here. I love getting hold of these books as it feels like a full cycle of completion. I’m hoping to finish this soon so keep an eye out for my review in a few days.
I daresay more books than these will cross my path this month but this seems like an achievable goal. If you’re interested you can follow me on Goodreads to see what I’m currently reading and chat about things before reviews go up.
