Hello Humans! Back for another W2RW are we? Today I’m talking about a book I discovered because of the Goodreads choice awards, it’s currently up for ‘Best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction’ (I’m writing this on the sixth by the point you are reading this the nominations may have changed).
I love books about death, The Book Thief (which, in case you don’t know, is narrated by Death) is one of my favourite books. I’m adding this firmly into my TBR and I’m looking forward to getting into it.
A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery. Humanity has conquered all those things, and has even conquered death. Now scythes are the only ones who can end life—and they are commanded to do so, in order to keep the size of the population under control.
Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe—a role that neither wants. These teens must master the “art” of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.
