10 New-to-Me Authors from 2017 – TTT

Hello humans! It’s time again to think back over the last 12 months and reflect on all the new authors I found. Now this is a pretty easy task really when you think about it. I’ve been bookblogging for less than a year and in that time I’ve read and enjoyed over 200 books. There’s quite a few authors in there I had never read before 2017. Here are just 10 of them…

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the beyond amazing The Broke and Bookish. If you don’t already you should head over there and check out the list of all the amazing book bloggers who take part, it’s a great way to find other bloggers who might read the same books as you!

All ten of these books were written by phenomenal authors, authors I hadn’t come across until this year. Certainly I had seen some of their books on the shelves but I’d never actually bought one or read it until 2017. Some of these I am a little ashamed about – how did I deprive myself of them for so long??

What new authors did you discover last year? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I was pretty much in the same boat! I discovered YA last year and have been catching up ever since. I think of the ones you listed, Leigh Bardugo and Alwyn Hamilton are my favourites!

  2. Yay for Marie Brennan! She was new to me too this year (as were Stephanie Garber and Vic James) and was one of my favourites for the year too – definitely a happy discovery. Other new discoveries for me were James Corey (The Expanse novels) and Jen Williams (I read her latest, The Ninth Rain, and now I need to hunt up The Copper Promise and its sequels).

  3. I’m impressed that you read over 200 books in a year! That’s been my goal for the last few years and I have not accomplished it. YET. One of these years …

I’ve read a couple books by Kiersten White but not AND I DARKEN. It’s on my TBR list as are lots of the titles you mention. *Sigh* So many books, so little time …

    Happy TTT!
