Four Bookworm Confessions I should probably keep quiet

Hello humans! It’s Sunday so it’s time for another post where I give legitimate life advice. Ahem. Today I want to talk about some bookworm confessions. I’m talking about the things we don’t want to tell anyone about. It’s time to get this out in the open. Time to start sharing these things and ending the shame.

I fold the corners of books.

Do I have bookmarks? Hundreds of them. Beautiful bookmarks, handmade bookmarks, bookmarks made from the blood of my enemies. Do I ever have one with me when I want to mark my place in my current read? No. Never. Absolutely not. So I confess here before you all that I have been known to fold over the corners of pages to mark my place. I’m so sorry. I’ll try to be better.*

*I probably won’t be better.

I bought the books.

Remember those book buying bans I’ve been on multiple times before? Yeah, those didn’t work out. I couldn’t help it! I walked past the bookshop and they called out to me from the window! They were little orphan books without a shelf to call their own I had to save them! I was doing a public service. Ok, you’re right I didn’t need any more books but this is the way I am and now we need another bookshelf.

That new release everyone’s talking about…I didn’t like it.

I know everyone thinks it’s the most wonderful and quotable book that’s ever been written. But I just… couldn’t get on board. But I’m terrified that if I tell anyone the book blogger community might just exile me. I’m sorry please forgive me I’ll give it a reread and see if it’s better!

My shelves aren’t rainbow.

Am I a real book blogger if my selves aren’t stunning rainbow creations perfect for a booktube/bookstagram background? Probably not. I’m sorry I’m not good at remembering where my books are so I need them in alphabetical order!

I’m never going to change.

I’m sorry if any of these confessions bother you. But I am the way I am and I don’t see myself changing anytime soon. Maybe once in a blue moon (isn’t there a blue moon in January? Oh darn).

More silliness! What are some of your bookworm confessions? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I freaking love this post. I’m a spine breaker, my bookshelves are in no order whatsoever, and I feel like I often don’t like the books I’m supposed to. Rock on, girl.

Also I need to know what that January release is.

  2. Haha, I can relate to all of them XD But the blogger community exiling you? Nah, Judith, we need more sweethearts like you .<) somehow the bookworm either goes missing or when I open the book, it's literally shoved in some random page, and practically of no use because it must've fallen and she doesn't understand how important it is. Yeah…sorry for the rant 😀

Anyway, I loved this post, as always!

      1. Haha, though I’m blushing of embarrassment because I think my comment got cut in the middle and it’s now missing a line or two XD
