20 Questions Book Tag

Hello! Today I am doing a book tag, I very rarely have the time to do these but it’s been a bit of a slow week! I was tagged by Riana at Fictional Worlds and Me, you can see her answers to this tag here. This tag was created by buydebook on Goodreads. Well here goes nothing!

1. HOW MANY BOOKS IS TOO MANY BOOKS IN A SERIES?

The most books I’ve read in a series (as opposed to an expanded universe like, for example, Discworld) is, I believe, six (Kingfountain Series). Since those books were quite easy reading that wasn’t too bad, but I feel like any more than six and I’ll lose momentum.

2. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CLIFFHANGERS?

I’ve just finished Children of Blood and Bone and it ends on the most amazing cliffhanger and now I need the second book immediately or I might cry. Sadly I think I’m going to be waiting a while. So the only reason I wou;dn’t like a cliffhanger is my own impatience!

3. HARDCOPY OR PAPERBACK?

I’d definitely call it a hardback, for one thing…I actually think I prefer paperbacks just for ease of transport, but since I’m reading so many new releases my hardback collection is growing for sure!

4. FAVOURITE BOOK?

What? No? I can’t answer this question!? I adore everything V. E Schwab but I can’t give you a favourite I’m sorry. Next question please.

5. LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK?

Another hard one…I’ve read some terrible fiction in my time. I’d say anthing where it is straight up offensive. Especially if the author refuses to get called out on it…

6. LOVE TRIANGLES, YES OR NO?

I have read maybe one well written love triangle in my time. I’m not against them but often they are used as a way of avoiding actually giving a female character plot – and that’s not cool.

7. THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU JUST COULDN’T FINISH?

I don’t DNF things most of the time. I think it was a primer on mythology, but my degree was mythology so it was all a bit basic for me.

8. A BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY

Scythe by Neal Shusterman is my current read and I am loving it so far!

I’m also listening to Red Sister very sporadically but I’m not great with audiobooks so we’ll see how that goes.

10. OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ?

Herodotus Histories. Which might be cheating because I read it for my degree, but I think 425 BC is pretty old!

11. NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ?

Probably Children of Blood and Bone given that it’s an arc!

12. FAVOURITE AUTHOR?

I adore V. E. Schwab, I love Leigh Bardugo, but I still can’t pick favourites sorry!

13. BUYING BOOKS OR BORROWING BOOKS?

It was borrowing books, but then I read everything I wanted to read from the library, so I’m back to buying!

14. A BOOK YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE SEEMS TO LIKE?

I don’t dislike this book, but I didn’t like it as much (at least on the first read) as everyone else. Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I think I was just in the wrong place for it when I read it, I may have to do a reread soon.

15. BOOKMARKS OR DOGEARS?

I love bookmarks but I never have them when I need them. So I’m more of a ‘piece of paper/receipt that was lying around’ kind of gal.

16. A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS REREAD?

Uprooted, I don’t know why but I must have read this book about 50 times now.

17. CAN YOU READ WHILE HEARING MUSIC?

I can, I mostly don’t. If I do I like it to be instrumental.

18. ONE POV OR MULTIPLE POVS?

Depends how good the author is at writing multiple POV, and if the setting calls for it!

19. DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?

In an ideal world I’m a one sitting kind of person, more often than not it actually takes me a couple of days per book.

20. ONE BOOK YOU READ BECAUSE OF THE COVER.

Just one? Probably Wild Beauty because that cover is stunning!

I TAG:

YOU! Yes, you! If you’re reading this I tag you! You are it!

Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to link me to your 20 questions, can’t wait to see your answers!
