TTT – 10 of my Favourite Book Quotes

Morning mortals! Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is a tricky one for me, I don’t often hold onto specific quotes from books, so I’ve had to do some delving to find some appropriate things to share!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and is an awesome way to discover new bloggers who like the same kind of books as you do!

“Death comes for everyone,” she said simply. “I’m not afraid of dying. But I am afraid of dying here.”

Victoria Schwab – A Darker Shade of Magic

“He read while he walked. He read while he ate. The other librarians suspected he somehow read while he slept, or perhaps didn’t sleep at all.”
Laini Taylor, Strange the Dreamer
“Hey! My body may be small, but my soul is large. It’s why I wear platforms. So I can reach the top of my soul.”
Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone
“I don’t want more sense!” I said loudly, beating against the silence of the room. “Not if sense means I’ll stop loving anyone. What is there besides people that’s worth holding on to?”
Naomi Novik, Uprooted
crooked kingdom
“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”
Leigh Bardugo, Crooked Kingdom
“I cannot perch among those who think that I am broken.”
Rachel Hartman, Seraphina
The Bear and the Nightingale
“Nay, it is the coming storm. The first sign is fear. The second is always fire. Your people are afraid, and now the fires burn.”
Katherine Arden, The Bear and the Nightingale
Nevernight Jay Kristoff
“You’ve got the look of a girl who’s no stranger to the page. I can tell. You’ve got words in your soul.”
Jay Kristoff, Nevernight
And I Darken Kiersten White
“Her spine was steel. Her heart was armor. Her eyes were fire.”
Kiersten White, And I Darken
Reign of the Fallen
“Those finished with life crave it less over time.”
Sarah Glenn Marsh, Reign of the Fallen

  1. Ooh! This is my favourite Strange the Dreamer quote–
“There were no books to hide behind, and no shadows–only Laszlo Strange in his worn gray robes, with his nose that had been broken by fairy tales, looking like the hero of no story ever told. Or. No story yet told.”
