Hello humans! Another amazing theme for a Top Ten Tuesday post (and not too difficult for someone who reads a lot of YA…). I don’t think there are many bookish worlds I would want to live in!
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and is an awesome way to discover new bloggers who like the same kind of books as you do!
The Extinction Trials
There may be a slight theme in these, just a heads up. As cool as it would be to see dinosaurs in real life, I feel like there would be a lot of running involved and, as an asthmatic, I would quickly end up toast!
State of Sorrow
I already spend much of every day in tears, so I don’t think the Court of Tears is for me (as much as I would love to meet Sorrow herself).
All Rights Reserved
This is a dystopia that definitely wouldn’t work for me! I’m too much of a chatterbox to limit my words for fear of enormous debt!
Everless
Using my blood to pay for things? No thank you!
Daughter of the Burning City
A city that is constantly smokey? Probably not the best idea…asthma again, sigh.
Illuminae
As much as I love these books and these characters, the idea of being at the whim of a homicidal AI is too terrifying to bear thinking about.
A Darker Shade of Magic
Ok, so is this cheating? I would want to live in this world, but not if I couldn’t guarantee that I would have magical powers, otherwise I might as well just move to London and I’m not here for that!
Vox
For similar reasons to All Rights Reserved, there is no way I could cut my vocabulary to under 100 words per day!
Red Sister
I love these characters, but the idea of living in a world being gradually covered with ice does not in any way appeal!
Mortal Engines
Living in constant fear of being eaten by a giant carnivorous city? Perhaps not.
So there you have it, 10 bookish worlds I would rather not live in! Which worlds would you put on your list? Let me know in the comments below!
J
Totally agree with these especially Illuminae!!

There are so many amazing fantasy lands that I’d love to live in, but I know I’d be a magicless peasant or would get trampled in a war 😥

I’d be quite happy to live in Red London, but yeah maybe not any of the others.
