TTT – 10 Books That Awaken the Travel Bug in Me

Hello humans! I prefer the term ‘wanderlust’ but I’ll settle for travel bug since that is this week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme. I love to travel and it’s not something I get to do very often but there are certain books that make me desperate to run away and hop on a plane off to goodness knows where!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and is an awesome way to discover new bloggers who like the same kind of books as you do!

The City of Brass

My Review

the City of Brass S. A. Chakraborty

The City of Brass made me yearn to visit Egypt, somewhere I’ve been wanting to go for a long time, unfortunately, I don’t cope well with heat or crowds at the moment so this might be a ‘distant future’ kind of thing.

The Wicked Deep

My Review

The Wicked Deep Shea Ernshaw

This book just made me want to go to the sea (this may be a theme in this post if I’m honest), I know that the sea in this book is pretty dangerous but I can’t help but love it.

Fly by Night

Review Coming Soon

Fly by night Frances Hardinge

This book didn’t make me want to go to a specific location but it did make me want to have all kinds of adventures (homicidal goose optional).

To Kill a Kingdom

My Review

To Kill A Kingdom Alexandra Christo

Perhaps the most unlikely (or maybe not) on this list, I would love to see the deepest parts of the ocean, I am fascinated by the way it is totally unknown and seeing it for myself would be so cool. Also, who knows, there could be mermaids and or sirens.

Tess of the Road

My Review

Tess of the Road Rachel Hartman

This book, much like  Fly By Night, simply makes me want to go somewhere and do something.

The Night Circus

The Night Circus Erin Morgenstern

There are so many places in this book I would love to go, and if I could be accompanied by a magical travelling circus I suppose that would be pretty good too.

Illuminae

My Review

illuminae Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

SPACE I WANT TO GO TO SPACE!!! (Ok this one may be the most unlikely).

The Thief Lord

The Theif Lord Cornelia Funke

This book was what first got me excited about going to Venice. I have been as a child but I think I would appreciate it so much more as an adult.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Daughter of Smoke and Bone Laini Taylor

I’ve talked about this before, but I still want to go to Prague and I blame this book entirely.

Even the Darkest Stars

My Review

Even the Darkest Stars Heather Fawcett

This book made me want to see huge mountain ranges with my own eyes (and I now have!!).

    1. My husband and I went on a cruise recently and it just awakened my need to explore the ocean. I love it where you get to the point where it’s just sea on every horizon – so cool.
